Cylinder Recovery / Disposal
Cylinders are dealt with in different ways, dependent upon whether the original owner can be identified. The owners name is normally given either by a label or printing on the cylinder body, stamp marking on the cylinder neck or embossed lettering on the guard.

- If the original owner can be identified, they should be contacted to arrange collection.
- If the original owner cannot be identified, then Compressed Gas Solutions can help.
The following process is considered best practice.
Cylinder Assessment - An assessment of the integrity of the cylinder and the type of residual product is completed. Where the integrity of the cylinder is in question, special means of dealing with and transporting the cylinders are required.
Transportation off site - We work in partnership with licenced Waste Carriers throughout the UK to arrange collection of the cylinders.
Transfer / Disposal - The unusable cylinders are rendered unserviceable and sent to a licenced waste disposal site for destruction. Where the cylinder contents are not reusable, the product is transferred to a intermediate container and sent for disposal at a licenced high temperature incineration plant.
